Day 10 - Sunday 11th December, 2011

On our last day in Nebraska the boys spent the day with their host families from Skutt Catholic High School. Many boys attended church in the morning, while some had the opportunity later in the day of shopping in one of the biggest sports stores you will ever find (it even had a large Ferris Wheel in the middle of the store). Jon Burt, and the staff and families of Skutt have been wonderful hosts and we sincerely thank them for the opportunity of visiting their school and for making our final days in Nebraska very special.

During our first home stay at Gross you might recall that Omaha’s Channel 6 were at the school and interviewed Liam and Dane. We were able to obtain a copy of the news footage, which you can view (not compatible with iPads/iPhones) by clicking on the link below (this will disappear after the 10th January, 2012).

Our time in Nebraska has been incredible. We have experienced so many different things – things that people visiting America mostly never get to do. As Coach Morrissey said in one of his newspaper interviews, “You can buy a ticket to tour the States, but you can't buy a ticket for what these kids will experience.”

Our next post will be from Boston, Massachusetts.

Best wishes.
